Only The Good Die Young
Just felt it was appropriate to mention the recent passing of one of Britain’s most talented and creative fashion designs-Alexander McQueen. Sadly he passed away at the young age of 40 in London on the 11th [February 2010].
What was interesting about his design aesthetic is that it would be dramatic yet suitably feminine. He’s one of those designers that truly confirm that fashion is art. Clothes full of color, print, embellishments and with unconventional twists: like his lobster claw shoes Lady Gaga immortalized in her recent Bad Romance music video.
He studied hard, worked his way up in the industry ladder, and received accolades, celebrity clients, fashion business deals and more. McQueen was one of those designers where we couldn’t wait to see what new and outrageous design he would send down the runway! Even if you could never imagine yourself wearing the ensemble you could appreciate the artistic creativity that went behind one of his designs!
